Job Title: Jr. Software Engineer – Large Platforms

Location: Dayton, OH or Milwaukee, WI

Position Summary

The Jr. Software Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining products associated with the PKZIP/SecureZIP for z/OS product line.

Responsibilities
  • Performs systems analysis, design, estimating, coding and debugging of new systems
  • Troubleshoots problems and performs maintenance of existing systems
  • Reports and updates the status of projects and work assignments
  • Proactively learns and utilizes new technologies, concepts and procedures as appropriate to project requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Experience with a variety of IBM Mainframe utility products
  • Application development skills within z/OS operating systems writing Assembler, Macros, C, REXX and ISPF
  • Strong working knowledge of the z/OS operating environment
  • Understanding of interlanguage calls within Language Environment
  • Experience with the following software support tools: ISPF, FTP, Compilers, Language Environment, IDCAMS, SMP/E, JCL and System Utilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under the direction of a Systems Architect as well as with other development staff in a shared code-base environment.
